So here goes with the first posting, about the day Miss Rosa was born...
After getting a little warning sign that things were happening the day before, Rosa was born late at night, five hours after our second taxi ride to the hospital (we were sent home the first time!). Rosa's birth, though painful and intense, went as well as I could have ever dreamed. After her little body mercifully slithered out and Jeff got to announce, "It's a girl!" my first words were, "I've got a pink girl!" ~ she was bright pink!
We stayed at the hospital 2 days, trying to figure out the very basics of our new life with a new baby, and came home to our other baby (Judd the Cat) on a windy June day. It was so strange coming back to our same neighborhood, then street, then apartment, now that a new life had been brought into the world. I couldn't get over that I was able to eat my leftovers from Valencia Pizza & Pasta from the night before she was born. A new life had been created, our lives forever changed, all in the space of time so short that my prawn fettucine alfredo was still good. Crazy!
yes! food that is older than your daughter! it also reminds me of how eva commented at band rehearsal that it's so weird to see you with out a baby... and where'd your bump go...
