Eva and Hudi's wedding

Again, it's been a long time since I've made a post. We've been consumed with both apartment hunting and rearranging our current place... you'll see in one of the pictures that the bed is now in the dining room. :-( But we're getting used to it and at least we're sleeping on a bed (instead of the futon) again! :-)

A couple Rosa developments, and then on to pictures: (1) she seems to be saying her first repeatable word, which we think is her version of "meow." Mommy: "Rosa, what does the kitty say? ... What does the kitty say?" Rosa: "Dooow! Dooow!" (2) Rosa can't get enough of helping to put on her pants and socks and shoes. Changing her diaper has gotten significantly easier because of this!

Now on to the wedding...
A couple weekends ago, the leader of my band, Eva, got married. It was a wonderful wedding - outside in the redwoods on a gorgeous warm Sunday afternoon. My first Jewish wedding I think. And the best part was that Rosa got to wear one of her beautiful fancy dresses from Tanti Kira. She looked like a little angel in it!

Here's Daddy with proper sun protection.

The wedding had many parts - it started with men and women separate, each group celebrating the bride or the groom with singing, stories, etc. Then everyone got together and they did the marriage contract. Then was the formal ceremony under the chuppah. Each of these parts of the wedding was in a different clearing under the peaceful majestic redwoods. It was a hot day, but comfortable in the shade of the trees.

After everyone ate, Making Dinner played a short selection of songs, all of which Eva wrote, inspired by Hudi. It was great to all be together to celebrate with Eva!

Here's Rosa helping Mommy set up the sound system.

Changing venues, here's Rosa back at home wearing her daisy hat that Grandpa Misha picked out for her. (And in the background, there's the bed, now in the dining room.)

And finally, at the playground. Rosa loves the swings best of all. When we get there, she runs over to them and holds her hands up to them. We usually still do the baby swings, but for some reason I decided to try the big girl swings the other day. We had to be very careful, but she did great!

Apartment hunting

Nope, we didn't pick this one.

Oh my - it's been a long time since I've written. And that's because we've been consumed with apartment hunting. We're looking for a slightly bigger place, but our neighborhood has gotten crazy expensive in the last 5 years, and we have cold feet about moving away from our beautiful views and well-worn paths. I'm feeling pretty discouraged right now.

But this blog is supposed to be about Rosa, so let's get on with it!

What's this - Daddy holding another baby? Yes - we finally got to meet Lin and Lenny's twins, Lyla and Lander!

Lin says this is not always the case, but on the day we visited, they were perfect angels. They drank their milk and then immediately fell fast asleep... no bouncing, no nothing. Wow. Everyone was so amazed at how big Rosa was in comparison. The picture of Lander on the bouncy chair is old... he's a bit bigger now, but the comparison is still pretty dramatic!
And speaking of Daddy, here he is with his two babies.

This one is for the band - Rosa in her guitar jammies.

Rosa in her new tiger (grrrr!) tshirt from Uncle Adam.

And a typical shot of Rosa, doing several things at once. She immediately zeroed in on a baby once I set her down to do my shopping.
